Sun-kissed!
  • Sunscreens are beneficial all round the clock
  • Sunscreens with an SPF of 25 or more suits the Indian skin tone best. Make sure they provide total sun block – both UV A and UV B protection
  • Avoid sun’s rays between 10-3.00pm
  • Completely avoiding being out in the sun could result in Vitamin D and Calcium deficiency. If you keep away from the sun at all times, have a supplement substitute planned out

Watch your weight to prevent Pseudoacanthosis Nigricans
Obesity is on the rise in our country, and that has given rise to Pseudoacanthosis Nigricans - a condition that leads to rough, thickened and pigmented skin around the neck and groin. Fold stains emerge on the neck which doctors call the ‘dirty neck’ as it looks dirty even if it has been washed and cleaned. The reason being, the caratene in that area gets thickened and traps the pigment.

Adult Acne: Zit Zap
For the longest time acne has been a teenager’s trauma, that adults thought were spared. Today, however, stressful lifestyles, POCD, lack of proper exercise and increased use of prescription drugs make it a common problem that adults grapple with. More and more women in the late 20s and 30s are bogged down with this.

Contact Dermatitis: Make up madness
If proper care isn’t taken while wearing on cosmetics, or if patch tests are neglected, it could lead to Contact Dermititis, allergic reactions to make up, lightening creams and other beauty products.

Tips for taking care of your skin
  • Make sure your skin isn’t too dry or too oily
  • Use a non-comedogenic moisturiser, which does not block pores
  • Those who have acne or sensitive skin can use make-up, perfumes or other cosmetics, but make sure to cleanse your face before you hit the sack
