Stress is a condition caused as a result of physical, mental or emotional threat perceived by the human body.


Causes of stress can vary from person to person and can be innumerable. They include:

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Share problems with someone trustworthy
  • Give ample rest to the body and mind
  • Follow relaxation techniques like meditation and deep breathing
  • Exercise regularly
  • Eat a balanced diet
  • Avoid caffeine, alcohol, tobacco and other stimulants
  • Manage time efficiently
  • Delegate work to others
  • Avoid taking up too many responsibilities
  • Get a body massage

Medical help may be required for stress that lasts too long. Certain medications may be prescribed along with other treatments.


  • Create a support system of family and friends
  • Keep free time for yourself
  • Avoid over commitment
  • Prioritize your activities
  • Eat a balanced and healthy diet
  • Avoid suppressing emotions
  • Deal with situations that can not be changed
  • Accept that everything can not be perfect
  • Prepare yourself psychologically for possible stressful situations
