Multiple Sclerosis


It is an autoimmune disease of the nervous system which affects the brain and the spinal cord. It causes damage to the protective covering of the nerve cells leading to scarring of the nerves and slowing down of the transfer of nerve signals.

The cause for multiple sclerosis is still not clear but few of the possible causes may be:

  • Genetics
  • Environment
  • Virus


  • Loss of vision
  • Blurred vision
  • Double vision
  • Muscle weakness
  • Loss of coordination and balance
  • Numbness
  • Tingling and pins and needles sensation
  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of memory
  • Cognitive difficulties

There is no cure for this disease but it can be slowed down with the help of:

  • Medication
  • Physical therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Counseling
