Febrile seizures are convulsions during high fever in young children, usually between the ages of 6 months and 5 years.

- Rolling of the eyes
- Rigidity in the body
- Twitching or shaking of the limbs
- Difficulty in breathing
- Loss of consciousness
Mostly, the seizures are harmless and subside within a few seconds to15 minutes requiring no treatment. In case of prolonged seizures treatment may include:
- Providing oxygen when breathing is not appropriate
- Medications to reduce temperature
There is no way to prevent febrile seizures.
