Cleidocranial Dysplasia

 

Cleidocranial dysplasia is a congenital defect of the cranial and the collar bones.

Causes

  • Genetic abnormalities
  • Heredity

Symptoms

  • Protruding jaw and brow bone
  • Increased space between the eyes
  • Wide nasal bridge
  • Short stature
  • Delayed closure of fontanels or soft spot
  • Incomplete or absent collar bones
  • Teeth problems
  • Weak bones
  • Hearing loss

Treatment  
There is no specific treatment for cleidocranial dysplasia but the symptoms can be managed by medical or surgical interventions.
